Lorraine Skelskey Chapin is an award-winning fine artist and instructor who lives in Connecticut. Her artwork is currently on exhibiting in the Finer Line Gallery in Mystic, Connecticut, Studio Hill in Woodbury, Connecticut, the Barn Gallery in New Fairfield, Connecticut, Lyme Art Association, and local Juried Art Shows.

Lorraine’s paintings are primarily impressionistic landscape and gardens en plein aire. En plein aire you are emersed in the excitement and anticipation of exploration of light, form, space, and color interpreted through paint. “I enjoy sharing my experience, interaction and conversations with people who stop by. Subject possibilities are endless, it can be anything from a river, ocean, scenic woodlands, or an everyday scene.”
Previously, Lorraine served on the board of the Fine Line Art Gallery in Woodbury, Connecticut, co-directing the gallery and its beloved annual art show in Litchfield, Connecticut for nearly two decades. Among other things, Chapin was responsible for building online awareness and community around the gallery and its events.
The artist is a Graduate of the University of Connecticut a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and an associate degree in Fine Art. She is a member of Lyme Art Association, SCAN, Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society.
